mollify - Flexible File Publishing

Mein Wochenende verbrachte ich in netter, gesellschaftlicher Offlinerunde.

Welche Zeit ist dafuer nicht besser, als die aktuelle Festlichkeit, denn eben jene traegt dazu bei, sich die ein oder andere ausgedehntere Minute fuer einem Nahestehende Personen zu nehmen.

Man mag es kaum glauben, auch mich ueberrascht es immer wieder aufs neue. Diese fast schon als aussterbende Menschenrasse verschrien, ist gar netter Natur und teilt selbst so manche Marotte …

Dennoch strandeten zwei, drei Gespraechsfetzten natuerlich auf der online Ebene.

Ein Thema dessen, war zum Beispiel File sharing. Meine Begeisterung fuer DropBox fand keine Resonanz und auch mein Verweis auf andere Dienste wurde ziemlich schnell mit einer heissen Schockolade samt Zimtkeks weggespuehlt.

Nun sind Offline besser oder “anders” belesen und zampfen ihre Informationen aus haptischen Quellen. Zeitschriften.

So wurde mir aus einer solchen Mollify ans Herz gelegt.

What is Mollify ?

“ Mollify is a web file manager for publishing and managing files hosted in a web server of your choice. Different users can have access to different files and with different permissions.”

Mollify project is hosted in Google Code, containing downloads, wiki pages, issue tracking, source control etc

Flexible File Publishing

Published folders can locate anywhere in the web server filesystem, and they can be named freely. Each user can have different folders available, and with different name. File permissions can be set in user, folder and file level

some features :

  • - File level user access control, editable from client by admin users
  • - Intuitive path bar, shows all parts of the current path and allows changing directly into any folder in any level
  • - File and directory details and actions available directly from context popup menu
  • - File actions available: download, rename, copy, move and delete
  • - Directory actions available: create, move, rename and delete
  • - Support for downloading files and folders in zipped format
  • - Support for editable file and directory descriptions
  • - Multiple file uploading with progress display support (New! Also supports flash uploader)
  • - File list sortable by columns (name, type, size)
  • - Fully customizable UI via CSS files, no styles are "hard-coded"
  • - Independent frontend and backend, both implementations can be replaced (communication with HTTP/JSON)
  • - Built-in standalone demo mode for demonstration and theme development
